About Bout
Understand how things work.
Why Bout
Technology is not a list to learn by heart but a way of looking at everything people make. Someone who gets stuck usually misses a picture or something to hold, not talent. Bout starts from a question you know and ends with something you build yourself.
Fixed blocks, always in the same order
Why, See it, Get it, Do it and Make it. Then the pitfalls, where you meet it in real life and a piece of history. Every topic shows what to know first and what comes next.
Exercises that never run out
Calculation exercises, such as a lever in balance or the speed of a gear, come from a generator: new numbers every time, with the right answer, a hint and a worked solution. For the rest, a code picks from large sets of questions to choose, order and match. Thousands of exercises per topic are tested automatically.
Who makes Bout
Bout is made by Neal Van de Velde (nealvdv), who also made Draad, Ruit, Vonk and Lus. Questions, mistakes or ideas are always welcome.
Calm and private
No ads, no tracking, no required account, no streaks or notifications that make you feel guilty. What you can do is kept on your own device only.
What does Draft mean?

Each app has its own subject and its own look, with the same way of working: understanding over cramming, calm and without ads.
Where we come from
Bout comes from a Christian conviction: every child is valuable, and whoever makes something with hands and mind may put care and joy into it. The content itself is ordinary, honest technology.
